Raspberries

Glen Ample - available very end June (if lucky) – mid July

A lovely, well loved and popular raspberry with our customers over many years which has excellent flavour and looks wonderful too. Good for freezing and jam and I occasionally use frozen raspberries instead of blackberries in crumbles etc through the winter for a change.

For 2015 we are also planting a small area of mature (long cane plants) for additional light croping this year)

Tulameen - available July

We have grown this variety for a number of years and it remains very popular with our customers and has excellent flavour with lovely looks.

It keeps and freezes well and makes tasty jam.

For 2015 we are also planting a new area of mature (long cane plants) for additional light croping this year).

Cascade Delight - available mid / late July

A new variety for us in 2015. These plants were planted in March 2015 to give a light crop for this year.

The fruit is large and attractive to look at and has an excellent flavour and because of the foliage copes well with wet weather (or so I am told!!).

Polka - available from End July

Our new Polka plantation will be productive for 2015. It has large, juicy, very pretty coloured fruits with an excellent flavour and nice scent.

This variety consistently wins awards as a late berry and is growing in popularity for its flavour and looks, it keeps well in the fridge and is good for freezing and making jam, which has the most amazing bright colour.

Autumn Treasure - from late July / early August

An early autumn variety to bridge the gap between Polka den Joan J. It is a smaller berry but delicious.

All Gold (Yellow) Available from Mid August

A very tasty, sweet raspberry that is yellow! We only grow a few for fun, but they are there.

This is a fruit you won’t see much of in the shops because it is relatively fragile and so best eaten fresh, but you might be surprised at its flavour if you do a blind test against a red one. It also makes good wine. Our old plantation is now very limited but we will replant in 2015.
